Installation

Ahhh!! So surreal that my sorority colony is now a chapter.  To be quite honest, it happened a few weeks ago.  With school being so crazy this is my first chance of writing about it! It was such a long but awesome day.  It was great knowing that you're all finally "sisters." What I thought was wicked cool was that now you're tied to hundreds of women through whatever sorority you may be in .   I wrote for Your Sorority Sister about joining a new chapter like I did! You can check it out here!

Thoughts, Quotes & Nostalgia

collage

1) If it was possible (ie. I was old enough & was independent financially) I would totally drop everything and travel the world.  I think it's amazing to see how others live and how different things are in different countries.  These 9 reasons are so relevant and could possibly be persuasive if you're easily persuaded like myself.  Also Thought Catalog is awesome!

2) There's just something about this quote that just puts life into perspective.  As normal people we are so easily drawn to complain about things. It's practically a daily routine to many.  If you don't like something cut it out of your life! However, if it's something important like your job I think it'd be wise (& common sense) to not and put up with it.

3) Who doesn't miss their best friend while in college? Yes you make best friends at school and have a blast with them but your friends at home will always be "your people." These people know you the best! You've known one another for a few years now and maybe since kindergarden! I read this article and I immediately sent it to my best friend because I miss her a lot (Hey Jill).

4) Best for last!! I never though I'd say this but I miss swimming A LOT.  For one, it was an awesome exercise and worked all your muscles.  Asked me about swimming a year ago mid season and I would probably have said  "I am SO HAPPY that my school doesn't have a pool." Here I am wishing there was a pool for me to at least do laps in for leisure.  Anyway number one & two are my favorite points.  Swimming in high school gave me my second family and my parents were always there for those horrible long meets where in total I swam for a total of 3 minuets max.

If I didn't document this experience it never happened right?

This past weekend I went home with Rouky, my friend from school, and it was great to just get away. One thing she was so excited for me to experience was a "real" bagel.  I don't know - I guess Dunkin bagel's don't qualify as real? Who knew! We happened to see That Awkward Moment and when we came out it was snowing .... again.  After a few snow days I loved it but now I'm like come on please stop. Apparently where I am we're expecting 3 to 5 inches tonight.  Can't escape it! I mean I guess you can since my family is in Florida without me - love you too fam!

I hope none of my classes are canceled. (Did I really just say that?) Basically I don't like making up the class work I've missed since the whole day I just want to lay in bed watching Netflix and catching up on blogs I like to read.  What do you do on snow days?

Your Sorority Sister

Hello!! I'm so excited to say that I am now a campus rep for Your Sorority Sister.  If you have never checked it out you must! Clearly from the name you can tell it has to do with being apart of a sorority.  In total there are eighteen campus reps and you can meet them all here! Within the next couple of months you can find our posts on how we dress up for chapter, organize all our classes or our favorite DIY.  Those are just a few topics! It's great to have a group of people where we all can bounce ideas off one another.  I'm so excited to work with everyone!

Make sure to check out the blogs below!

I love these necklaces!!! These neckless would totally dress up a plain shirt if you were in a rush to get out.  Although my collection of statement neckless are very few I love just looking at them.  They all are so pretty.  However I'd feel like I'm super dressed up if I wore these out but there's no harm in just staring at them, right? Anyway the number one I really really like is the state necklaces.  They're so simple yet pretty.  Are you currently eyeing a certain necklace you're dying to have?

Snow Day

So today is the first day of second semester and classes have already been canceled! Bonus of going to school in New England? According to The Weather Channel we're expected to get 4-6 inches of snow - YES! I love snow and I sort of wish I was home so I could go tubing or something.  I'm sitting in my bed watch the snow come down and there's something to it that's so relaxing to me.

As the new semester starts it almost feels like it's the first day of school.  In a way it is but not... You have to adjust to a new schedule, hopefully become friendly with a classmate incase you need a partner for a project or homework help and by the time you are use to everything it'll start all over.  Lucky us college kids we get to do it a total of eight times!

Since it feels like the first day of classes I'm going in with the same mentality as I do at the beginning of any new semester/year "I'm going to study hard and get all A's!" We all know in three weeks our minds quickly change and realize the pressure of our classes.  In the end it doesn't matter if you're taking five classes compared to someone who is taking three.  Everyone has homework to be done, papers to complete and projects to be turned in.

While I sit in bed I have set goals for myself I hope that I stay to them!
  • Start homework, projects, studying etc. early so I'm not cramming at the last minute
  • Eat healthier
  • Work out more (compared to last semester that shouldn't be a problem...)
  •  Become more involved
  • Be smart with my money and don't purchase things on a whim
  • An even better daughter, sister and friend
For the rest of the day I don't plan on leaving my bed and I hope you have a relaxing day.
